SCR
AEM's SCR (silicon controlled rectifiers) thyristors are highly robust devices, renowned for their unparalleled ability to control substantial amounts of power. Functioning as a solid-state latching switch, an SCR remains in its "off" (blocking) state until a small trigger pulse is applied to its gate terminal, at which point it rapidly switches "on" and conducts current from anode to cathode. Once triggered, remain in the "on" state until the current falls below a certain level, making them indespensible for phase control, motor speed control, and AC power switching applications.
